Training Wheels Are For Pussys'
Hi all
squid here
so i have been reflecting on my younger life of biking, and i remeberd along time ago i was walken around with a couple friends and we came appon one fried's cousin visiting from Viet Nam, and he was riden my friends bike. the kid kinda crashed hopped back on the bike, rode for a second or two crashed, got up, dusted him self off and got back on the bike and rode away... and crashed again, back up and at it again.
walking away i snickered alittle, and my friend asked was so funny, then he realized that i was snickering at his cousin. he pointed out that this was the frist time that this kid saw a bike and started riden that morning. he tought himself how to ride a bike in one morning!
after that i felt super shalow and super stupid and judgemental. from that day foward i never made fun of anyone trying something new, asking questions or learning how to do something. from that day on i decided to help people how to do the things i know how to do. thats how i got into teaching SCUBA, and taking people to the rock jym to try Rock climbing, and helping people where ever and when ever i can!
I envy that kid, who is now a man, for learning how to ride a bike, by him self on pavement and with out training wheels or pads or anything, even a helmet!!!!!
he was brave and deturmened!!!!!
now that i am older, and showing my roomate how to ride, i never laugh at her, i snicker at her every once and a while, but never at her and her riding. i snicker cuz i see my self back in the day tryen everything that she is learning now. and i tell her that!
she is as determened as that kid was from vietnam!!!!
and now i find my self doing the same at the bike park, asking questions, trying to do things and taking pictured and studying videos all the time!!!!
squid out
and remember
today is the tomorrow you dreamed about yesterday
and the cover is just the first page of the book, whynot fidn out what is inside!!!!!
